Casa Maono is located in Ribeira da Azenha, on the south west coast of Portugal. (2 hours south of Lisbon and 2 hours north of Sagres.)

 

The Alentejo coast region is known for its glorious beaches and charming fishermen villages. It offers a mixture of sea and countryside, where people live on the rhythm of the earth.

 

Visit Praia Virinha, Praia Malhao, and Praia Aivados (only 3km away from the house !), where you can enjoy the beach, have a swim and watch the surfers in action or join them! 

 

In the villages Porto Covo and Vila Nova de Milfontes you will find great restaurants and bars. Try one of the grilled fishes or seafood with a glass of one of the excellent wines of the Alentejo region.

 

The 100km coastline from Porto Covo in the Alentejo to Burgua in the Algarve is protected and also known as the Costa Vicentina national park. There is a famous walking trail called the Rota do Vicentina and our house is just located next to many routes of the long trail.
